Today we moved on from Sea Lake to the larger rural town of Kerang (population just shy of 4,000) which we will use as a base to explore the Kerang Lakes, tomorrow. Today our primary focus was the mundane activity of shopping to stock up on provisions – there being a Woolworths supermarket in town. While in town we also had a quick look around and a stroll along the Loddon River.

After three days at beautiful Swan Reach, it was time to move on. The next planned stop was Tailem Bend, about 100 km south of Swan Reach. Rather than going there directly, we decided to make a slight detour and spend another night at Murray Bridge.

Today, we had planned to laze around at the campsite and enjoy the winter sunshine that we had been experiencing recently. However, our plans were interrupted by a gloomy morning and a forecast that promised no sunshine for the entire day. As a result, we had to quickly change our plans.

Today was another day mainly spent relaxing by the river, in the glorious winter sun. This was after a less than glorious frost last night, though, wrapped up well and using the diesel heater we really only became aware of the cold when we woke up and stepped outside the van before the sun had done its thing.
In addition to sitting back and relaxing, we did manage to go for a drive and had a look around town, the name of which is derived from the black swans that live in this area on the Murray River.
