This is a new 4 km walking (cycles, horses and dogs on leashes also permitted) trail between North Gundagai and Snake Gully where the Dog on the Tuckerbox is located. Starting or ending in the town centre will add an additional 3kms to the walk – each way – along quiet roads/footpaths to the trail head.

The trail is an easy walk through undulating countryside. It runs parallel to, though sufficiently far back from it to make it enjoyable, the busy Hume Highway. That said you will experience some traffic noise.

The walk is almost totally through open country which gives great views but that comes with a downside – you are totally exposed to the elements, especially the harsh Australian sun. Make sure you protect yourself with a hat and sunscreen and bring plenty of water.

If starting out at the trail head in Gundagai (Spring Flat Drive) there is plenty of parking but no other facilities. At the Snake Gully end there is ample parking, toilets, places to eat, etc (see my separate reviews).

Not a must do walk but a pleasant thing to do, particularly if you are have two days in the Gundagai area.

Directions: Start either at the Dog on the Tuckbox, Hume Highway or Spring Flat Drive, Nth Gundagai
